It started with Stars Wars in 2013 and quickly became “our thing.”
Christmas – “The Marathon Awakens” – Star Wars – Order TBD
September – “The Godfather Movie Marathon” – We watched all 3 Godfather Movies in one day! (Okay to be fair, we turned off GDF3 about 1/3 into the movie since all our guests had left, it was 10pm, and Sofia Coppola’s acting was so bad.) Lots of wine and some amazing italian food. I even made a lasagna and tiramisu from scratch.
May – “Hitchcocktails” – Four movies and four distinct cocktails – Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window, North by Northwest
January – “Noir Year’s Day” – All day brunch with accompanied by these excellent movie – Double Indemnity, Sweet Smell of Success, Maltese Falcon, and The Big Sleep.
Halloween – “Monster Movie Marathon” – A relaxing day of old school monster movies and munchies.
May – “May the 4th” – Star Wars, all 5 in machete order
January – “The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy” – Far more tasty than then Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Three Colours film trilogy, the Cornetto Trilogy features Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End. We added on Paul as a bonus flick at the end of the evening.
November – “Feasting & Films” – To be fair this was mostly an open house and we had some movies going. Looking back, all I can find are my notes about the food. No idea what we watched.
September – “Silent Movie Saturday” – A marathon of Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Buster Keaton feature films.
